Majhi Vasundhara (My Earth) is a holistic initiative taken up by the Environment and Climate Change Department, Govt. of Maharashtra.

This initiative focuses on all the five elements of nature i.e. “Panchamahabhuta” viz. Bhumi (Earth), Jala (Water), Vayu (Air), Agni (Energy) and Akash (Enhancement).

The aim of this initiative is to make citizen aware of the impacts of climate change and environmental issues and to encourage them to make a conscious effort towards improvement of the environment. It also aims to ensure sustainable development of Maharashtra and to take strong climate action at state level.

Majhi Vasundhara focuses on restoring the five elements of nature through six initiatives. These initiatives by the Environment and Climate Change Department , Govt. of Maharashtra, target to engage stakeholders from different sectors and age groups to sensitize them about sustainable development and climate change.

Majhi Vasundhara focuses on identifying potential action points for the betterment of the environment for the local bodies in Maharashtra (Majhi Vasundhara Abhiyan). It also aims to connect with every citizen at the individual level (#Epledge). It targets to connect with government institutions (Majhi Vasundhara Summit) , local and global corporate entities (Majhi Vasundhara Corporates), and brings all national and international non-profit organizations (Majhi Vasundhara Non-profit) under one umbrella to pioneer change. Not only that, but Majhi Vasundhara also taken up the initiative to inculcate green values in future generations and planned to develop a curriculum for the school students in Maharashtra (Majhi Vasundhara Curriculum). The curriculum will be introduced by the Department of Education and Sports, Government of Maharashtra, in the next academic year.
